About Me
Kathryn Newman
RN,RM, SCPHN, Accredited in Level 3 Infant Sleep, Tongue tie practitioner.
Hi, I’m Kathryn, a mum and professional with over 35 years of experience working with families from pregnancy to 5 years.
I am a registered Nurse, Midwife, Health Visitor and Tongue Tie Practitioner who has worked in the NHS for many years. My training and experience has given me a deep understanding of infant and child development, feeding, sleep, weaning, reflux, diet, parental well being and family dynamics. I am highly skilled in trouble shooting sleep difficulties, feeding issues, child development, newborn tongue ties, diet and reflux using evidence based practice. This means I can look at sleep in the wider context of your child’s health and your baby’s needs, not in isolation!
I brought up two boys on my own and fully understand the difficulties of parenting in todays society and the pressure this can cause. Focusing on and supporting good sleep practice is extremely rewarding and can be life changing for your family.
My sleep training techniques are evidence based and aligned with current NHS guidelines and child development research. I support a responsive, respectful approach that priorities your child’s emotional well-being whilst still helping the family have more sleep.
I work safely and ethically within my sphere of practice. Where sleep difficulties maybe linked to health and development concerns I will always encourage appropriate input from your GP or other health care professional.
